These analyses focus on respondents that identified as men and women. We support nonbinary students at UNC absolutely, and due to the limited size of our sample we can’t share their insights without compromising their anonymity and safety. Gender and orientation at UNC

About 1 in 5 women at UNC identifies as non-heterosexual.

Of those, 64% identify as bisexual, 21% identify as homosexual, and 9% identify as pansexual.

About 1 in 7 men at UNC identifies as non-heterosexual.

Of those, 66% identify as homosexual and 28% identify as bisexual.
